Police Investigate CFA Station Burglary

Police are appealing for public assistance after property valued at over $23,000 was stolen during a burglary at a shed being used to store CFA equipment in Darraweit Guim, near Clarkfield between the15th of March and 16th of March 2014.

Investigators believe the offenders entered the Quayles Road property sometime between 4pm on Saturday 15th and 7.30am on Sunday 16th March where they gained entry to a locked shed used to store equipment.

A distinctive 'Australian Lighting' tower, valued at $10,000 was stolen along with other equipment including protective fire fighting clothing, UHF radios, a 10 horsepower Mercury boat motor, infrared binoculars, Olympus digital camera and a Stihl chainsaw.

Macedon Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives believe the offenders have used a large vehicle or trailer to transport the stolen property which was paid for by money raised by the local community and CFA.

Detectives have released images of the stolen lighting tower, of which there are only three in Victoria.
